SELLERS RESPONSIBILITIES (YOU)
1. Sell My Old Cell Phone wants to pay top dollar for every phone order placed. In order for us to pay top dollar, each cell phone must be fully functional and "like new" in appearance in order to be paid the maximum amount offered. We will, however, pay for phones that do not meet the like new condition, but at a reduced amount (describe further below under "buyers" responsibilities). Please keep in mind that it is industry standard to pay less for phones that may be something a bit less than perfect. So anyone you sell to, you should read the Terms. "Like new" and fully functional means:
a. It must power on and make a 611 test call.
b. LCD displays work and is not broken, bleeding or cracked.
c. Keypad works and scroll bars work.
d. The antenna is intact and the body of the phone is not cracked or separated.
e. No loose or broken flip or slide and the display light comes on as designed.
f. Ringer works, speaker and microphone work, camera works.
g. All features of that model work, IE. Texting, touch screen, email, push-to-talk, MP3, games, GPS, etc.
h. No red dots!
i. It should be "released" from your service provided if you do not use a SIM card, i.e. Verizon, Sprint, etc. and not have an account balance.
j. It should not be stolen or found.
k. It should have as little signs of use as possible. A small nick or a hairline scratch will not disqualify it from being "like new" in appearance and receiving the full amount offered.
A note about water exposure. A white dot that has "bled" and turned red beneath your battery on your phone is an indication that it has come in contact with moisture. We will not buy phones with red dots.
Like we said earlier, if your phone is less than "LIKE NEW", we will still take it but the amount paid will be scaled down based on cosmetics and functionality. We will contact you via e-mail with the new offer based on the following star rating system. We use a four star system of rating as describe below:
a. Four stars pay 100% that means minimal signs of use
b. Three stars pay 75% and means visible signs of light use
c. Two stars pay 50% and means visible signs of heavy use
d. One star pay 25% and means extremely poor condition
e. Zero stars pay 10% and means that it is broke in some way
If you send a phone that is reported lost or stolen, has a balance, or has a red dot and it is marked as "good", it will not be paid on at all and will become the property of sellmyoldcellphone.com. When listing models, you must use the actual model number written inside the phone. Do not judge model by picture alone as many models are nearly identical. Incorrect models will be paid the corrected model amount due based on cosmetic and functionality rating. Finally, they should contain at least one form of charging apparatus to be considered complete. You will still be paid without it, but it is important to have it. It is also important to note that the initial agreement is tentative until phone(s) have been received and completely inspected.
2. When you ship your phone(s), make sure they are packed well and secured so that upon arrival they will not be crushed or otherwise damaged from shipping. We do not accept liability associated with shipping:
a. Damaged while enroute, or
b. Lost or stolen while enroute
If you are sending high dollar phones, we recommend that you consider shipping insurance. We will provide you with a FREE USPS shipping label emailed to your computer, but you would need to secure insurance if you choose.
3. Please do not attempt to sell a phone that is stolen or one that has been found; it will be reported to proper authorities.
4. PHONES WITH SIM CARDS DO NOT NEED TO BE RELEASED OR HAVE A ZERO BALANCE. All others MUST be released and have a zero account balance. Phones that have not been released and carry an unpaid balance may be returned, but at owners expense (to include shipping and rejection fees).
5. Each cell phone must have valid and verifiable IMEI or ESN Serial Number. That means we will not accept a phone that is missing the serial number sticker inside or is scratched off of blotted out.
6. Phone(s) that arrive without batteries will be accepted but a battery replacement fee ($10.00 for non PDA phones and $20.00 for PDA phones) will be deducted from your phone(s) purchase price. Please make sure phone(s) have their batteries and are fully charged before sending.
7. Payments are made 30 days after the phone(s) have been received. This will allow us enough time to ensure the phones functionality and reactivation ability. You will be paid by Company Check via US First Class Mail. You will receive a Payment Notification e-mail once your check has been issued and sent.
8. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO REMOVE US AND THE USPS FROM YOUR SPAM BLOCKER. ALL CORRESPONDENCE IS CONDUCTED VIA EMAILS AS WE DO NOT SUPPORT A CALL CENTER, YET.
9. It is the SELLER'S responsibility to remove all pictures, phone numbers, and other data from each cell phone being sold.
10. All prices are good for 20 days from the date the purchase invoice is produced. Your phone must be received within the 20 day window from the date the invoice is placed until it is received. Orders received outside the 20 day guarantee will reflect the updated price, without exception. Price changes outside the 20 day guarantee have no reconsideration (except as stated above for cosmetic and functionality purposes). Prices are subject to change depending on the current market value of the phone in its received cosmetic and functionality condition.
11. We DO NOT purchase the following Service Provider Cell Phones: NECC Wireless, Rogers Wireless, Simply Freedom, STI Mobile, CENTENNIAL WIRELESS, DISNEY MOBILE, EARTHLINK WIRELESS, AMP'd Mobile, or any other PRE-PAID SERVICE PROVIDERS including TRACFONES and any similarity thereof.
BUYERS RESPONSIBILITIES (US)
1. Once you submit a Purchase Request to sell your phone, we will process that order and send you a notification via email indicating that we have received your submission, reviewed it, and conditionally accepted it. It is conditional because we have not yet had an opportunity to view the product and test it. You will be sent a USPS shipping label to your computer from the USPS website. You need to make sure you add the USPS to your safe list in order to receive it in your in box. If you do not receive it within 6 hours, check your spam email box and then notify us and we will be glad to have it sent again.
2. Once we receive your phone, we will send you an email indicating that your phone has arrived and is being "processed". Processing can take several weeks due to number of phones we receive, so please be patient.
3. We request 30 days to process your phone(s). You will receive an email notification once your check has been approved for payment and sent.
4. No matter how many phones you submit, we treat each phone in your invoice as though it has it's own contract. Therefore, if you send more than one phone and one of them is in less than "like new" condition, all the others will proceed as originally designated and the processing of the reduced phone(s) will stop. We will submit an email to you (make sure we are on your email's "safe list") indicating the reason for it's reduction along with either of the following:
a. No offer to buy or
b. A reduced offer to buy based on it's resale value in it's current cosmetic condition.
You will have the opportunity to review our second offer and accept or reject it. If you accept, your order will continue processing. If you reject it, you may get the phone back if you wish, but you will be responsible for return shipping (which includes original postage and labor involved in processing your phone). The return fee is a flat $10.00 (for 1-2 phones), $15.00 (for 3-5 phones) $20.00 (for 6-10 phones) and includes all postage and labor involved in acquiring and processing. More than 10 phones will depend upon weight. We will allow you THREE (3) days to make that decision. If we do not hear back from you within 72 Hours we will assume that the new offer is accepted and the order will continue to be processed at the new purchase price. You have ten (10) days to get us the money order (no personal checks). If not received within 10 business days, any phones on hold will be recycled and no longer available. Finally, all offers to buy cell phones are good for 20 days from the date the purchase invoice is produced. Orders are subject to the current price based on date of receipt.
CONTRACT BETWEEN BUYER (US) & SELLER (YOU)
These terms and conditions act as a legal contract between the seller and the buyer are here to protect both the parties. It holds each party to certain responsibilities to ensure that a fair and equitable practice is engaged. Submission of a form constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. We will do everything to earn your business now and in the future.
